Attracting more visitors than any other part of Mexico, Cancun's white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise waters together with the famous Mexican hospitality make it a place like no other! But have you heard about the destination's latest developments? Cancun is now even better than ever and here's why... Sand, sand, sand Cancun has finally gotten its beaches back and wow, aren't they amazing?! We've been flooded with photos from our favorite hotels and resorts who are in love with their new beaches – the transformation is unbelievable and guests couldn't be happier. The US$71 million renovation project has transformed the region's beaches with over 200 feet of white-sand beachfront added to the shorelines. As the beach restoration project continues along the coast, the results in Cancun can now be enjoyed by all!
World's largest underwater museum! Calling all snorkelers and divers – a visit to Cancun is a must as now it is home to the world's largest underwater sculpture park. Around 400 sculptures are currently being positioned among the natural reefs and clear shallow waters at the National Park West Coast of Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancun and Punta Nizuc. Snorkelers, divers and even those in glass-bottomed boats can view and explore the sculptures in this museum unlike any other!
Getting there just got easier Cancun Airport has doubled its operating capacity to approx. 28 million passengers a year by adding a second runway and new control tower. And with over 80 takeoffs and landings per hour that means a whole lot more flights for us travelers!
Adios taxes - buy in Cancun and get your money back Tax Back enables travelers to shop 'til they drop in Cancun's impressive malls and then claim back the tax on most purchases made. Simply ask for an official form at the affiliated stores and then visit the Tax Back office, now open at Cancun Airport, to claim your tax back.
If this doesn't tempt you to visit Cancun, maybe the lure of sizzlin' nightlife, fascinating archeological sites, water sports galore, outstanding international cuisine and accommodations for all budgets and styles will!
I can't wait to see the underwater museum. When my husband and I visted Isla Mujeres a few years ago, we were astonished at the beauty of the water. Absolutely crystal clear turquoise and jade water - amazing!
I am soooooo ready to go back!! Haven't been since 2007.

I have traveled to Cancun & the Riviera Maya for years...started in the late 80's. It is an easy trip out of Atlanta (approx. 2 hrs.), and a non-hassle trip. When one gets to the Cancun airport the operators are so trained and it is easy most of the time to get to your resort. The resorts are some of the cleanest & well kept anywhere I have traveled. Baths are marble, rooms are cleaned (I mean cleaned) everyday and the luxury resorts cannot do enough to make your vacation pleasurable. With some complaints of having to book restaurants in advance, some have even changed this procedure. I cannot say enough about how nice & safe Cancun is for a perfect vacation.
