Thinking about an all-inclusive vacation, or maybe you’ve already booked? Then congratulations, you’ve made a great start to your vacation plans – there really is no better value in all of travel! With the convenience of knowing your vacation package price generally includes almost everything up front, you can now count down the days until you hit the beach! But before you jet off to the sun, here are some must-read tips to help you get savvy on all-inclusive dining and make the most of your stay.
If you’re ready to book an all-inclusive vacation, we recommend you first check out the dining options – does the resort cater to your tastes? Most have a wealth of restaurants offering a wide range of international cuisines, from casual buffet style-dining to a la carte choices, and you’re sure to find there’s something for everyone, even fussy kids! At most Riu Hotels & Resorts you can choose from at least 6 restaurants, with options ranging from a main buffet, to steakhouse grills, and European, Asian and local cuisines. The choices are endless!
Next, find out about the resort dining rules before you arrive either by researching it online or by contacting our Reservations team, who’ll be happy to help. Many specialty/a la carte restaurants have dress code policies requiring men to wear long pants and appropriate footwear, while the buffet-style dining options are usually more casual. Do you need to make reservations at the specialty restaurants each day at the lobby, or is there a concierge to make reservations for you? You’ll often find reservations are only necessary for the specialty restaurants, as the buffets are usually open for longer hours. During the busy times of year, some resorts recommend you make reservations as soon as you arrive to guarantee your ideal time slot. And, some dining venues are designated as adults-only, so be sure to confirm if the kids can tag along before you book. Some resorts cater to families with children with special kids menus offering a wide variety of kid-friendly foods. When I recently stayed at an adults-only Secrets Resort, no reservations were required for any of the restaurants – it was so liberating never having to plan where to eat in advance!
Maybe you’re a room service fan and love to spend leisurely mornings enjoying breakfast on your balcony? Then we recommend you choose a resort with room service included in the all-inclusive plan. Palace Resorts’ all-inclusive plan features 24 hour room service at all of its properties – perfect for those midnight cravings!
And, if you’re seeking a gourmet experience then our Product team can highly recommend Azul Hotels Gourmet Inclusive® cuisine – at Azul Sensatori in the Riviera Maya try Le Chique restaurant’s 12-course Author’s Dinner for out-of-this-world dishes like white truffle mousse, cotton candy encased foie gras and lamb medallions with black tortilla sauce! Wow...
So, by doing a little research before your vacation, you’ll be well prepared and know exactly what to expect at your all-inclusive resort of choice! Dining is definitely a big part of the vacation experience – and choosing an all-inclusive resort is a really smart option for so many reasons!
