Countdown to the 25th St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival
This year, the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival will span 10 days bursting with music and creativity beginning April 29, 2016 featuring artists such as Marc Anthony, George Benson and child-prodigy Joey Alexander. Let the countdown begin!
St. Lucia is known as the artistic mecca of Caribbean, and as such, it should come as no surprise St. Lucia has hosted a world-famous jazz festival every spring for the past 25 years.
The jazz festival has become such a cornerstone of music and art that this year, on its silver anniversary, the island has rebranded it as the St. Lucia Jazz &Arts Festival. This expansion of the festival was done to better showcase the culture and creativity of St. Lucians, while continuing to provide over a week of top-notch jazz and contemporary music.
While the majority of the performances are on Pigeon Island, one of the many unique things about the St. Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival is variation in types and locations of performances. These performances range from free shows and outdoor picnic-style concerts to club performances. The unique events can be found scattered throughout the island so that locals can celebrate their own towns while tourists can explore new parts of the island they might not otherwise think to visit!
