- If our prices seem higher, it’s because they’re now inclusive of government taxes and fees. In fact, our component prices per se have not increased. The Department of Transportation (DOT) officially unveiled a series of consumer protection rules aimed at increasing transparency and fairness in the airline industry. The rules were proposed last June and took effect last week.
